Adult & Junior  Learn to Sail and Introduction to  Racing

Adult & Junior Level 1 and 2 training courses consist of 10 sessions.

Junior sailors from the age of 8 have training similar to the adult course, however the course is tailored to each child's learning ability.


Learn to Sail Level 1


You will train in groups of 3 with the instructor in the boat with you.

The syllabus includes:
  • Safety, personal and boat
  • Sailing on all points, tacking and gybing
  • Rigging, knots, care of equipment
  • Launching, coming alongside
  • Basic sailing rules
  • Weather, tides and wind
  • Capsize drill, man overboard, emergencies
  • Basic sea safety, hypothermia



Learn to Sail Level 2


Trainees are placed into single or double handed club training boats or their own, with the instructor providing instructions from a power boat.



Introduction to Racing


Following your successful completion of Learn to Sail Level 1 & 2, the Introduction to Racing is conducted in small groups.
