Wintersail is a Junior class coaching event held on Albert Park Lake. The event is aimed at beginning to mid-fleet sailors who may need a little bit more help to get around a course. 

Top of the fleet sailors are encouraged to attend and will be catered for with experienced coaches being involved.

Winter Memberships 2012

Albert Park Yacht Club is one of the few Victorian clubs open all year round. We offer a special Winter Membership. Racing and Training on Albert Park Lake through winter is a very enjoyable experience for Junior and Adult sailor. Special events are planned for this winter.

Optimist Training on the Lake

Albert Park Lake - Optimist Term 2 Coaching. 
Saturday May 5th - June 2nd
10.30am – 1pm @ $90 for all 5 sessions. 
VIODA members only, Bronze and Silver Fleets  - Coaching aimed at aspiring sailors racing at State Championships but not as yet in the top 12 Victorians in the State. 
Coach, Anna Phillip – Ex top Victorian female Opti sailor.

APYC is one of the few Dinghy Sailing Clubs in Victoria open all year round. Now in our 140th year and with the 25 foot Acrospire ll sailing in its 101st year! 

New members are welcome and we are keen to help you learn the ropes of sailing and racing.

Times:  Sat 9:30 - 12:30.
  •  adult course in Pacers (13yrs+)
  •  junior course in Corsairs & OziOpti (<13yrs)
Held Sat. 9.30am - 12.30pm at Albert Park Yacht Club ( between The Boatshed and The Point restaurant.) Fees include Albert Park Yacht Club annual membership.

The Adult Learn to Sail 20 hour program is an accredited 20 hours Small Boat Sailing Basic Skills 1 and 2 program combined (Yachting Australia). At the end of the course we expect you to be able to jump on any boat, big and small and be a valuable sailing member. This is a program jointly operated by The Boatshed and Albert Park Yacht Club.

Parking Permits

All members that are regular visitors to the club should consider an annual Vehicle Parking Permit. These are economical and convenient. Parents/Guardians of Junior Members can also purchase a Permit at a reduced rate.
